The first gathering of the Cape-Atlantic Foodies Group on Anchorage Drive took place on February 10, 2007, at the home of Christine and Gene. The featured theme of the evening was French cooking from the recipes of the late Julia Child. It was such a success that the group decided to hold more dinners on a rotating basis, with everyone taking a turn to host and choose various menus.
The theme for the April 14, 2007, session was Cajun/Creole, and it was hosted by Pat and George.
Next up was food from Italia on June 2, 2007, at Norma and Bob’s home.
Susan Hussong hosted the June 14, 2007, session, which featured Summer Salads. (Unfortunately, I didn’t get photos of this one.)
We experienced an Old-Fashioned Western BBQ dinner on September 16, 2007, at the home of Kathleen and Jim. The food theme was augmented by the hats, badges, and neckerchiefs that the couple provided.
Harriet and Joe hosted an Old-Fashioned Polish Christmas on December 29, 2007.
The first Foodies Group of 2008—a St. Patrick’s Day Gala-- took place at Nan and Tony’s home on Haven Avenue on March 8. Many of us wore green, and we participated in a sing-along enlivened by Tony’s expert performance on his accordion.
A "Spring Fling Dinner" was hosted by Janet at her home in Northfield on April 27, 2008. The amount of delicious desserts present added a pound or two to all those that attended. (Unfortunately, I didn’t get photos of this one either.)
